97 Camry exhaust fumes

I only get the exhaust smell in car when climbing hills in PA or when engine engine is under load , like passing. Had exhuast checked , no leaks. Does not happen everytime.

Chances are that your exhaust is leaking. minor enough and not detectable at idle.

At low speed and high load like you described, the leaked amount is enough for you to smell.

Leak in body or a door/window. Check rear of car, and also rear trunk inside wheel well area behind upholstery.

Holes in the rear can actually suck in exhaust into the cabin
