Grinding in Reverse
I have searched this forum and I found posts that were similar but not particularly stating the same problems as mine.
I did a transmission swap o my 99 Camry V6 auto last December and hadn't much time to finish all the work on it until now as I graduated college and left town in search of a job.
Still job searching....and thought I should finish fixing so I have a back up car.
The problem I am having is that the transmission shifts fine in all gears except reverse. The shift into reverse is smooth but once engaged, it kinda grinds. Not very loud, but you can hear it. It's not the whirl, or the normal different sound R has compared to D. It grinds!!!
Could this me a huge impending problem? Or is it just that the differential is lacking enough fluid? I must say that it grinded louder when I first cranked it up but has subsided significantly.
Any tips? Help?
I must say I wouldn't have gotten anywhere with this DIY if not for u guys. Thanks in advance.
Also, is there away for me to fill the differential? Does it use a different fluid?
