4th Generation Vent Control

got an issue with my 98', the vent selector switch doesn't seem to work, when I first got the car it would work, I could select floor, Floor/dash and dash, as well as defrost and defrost/floor no problem, but it started to stick at certain spots for a while, like defrost regardless of the switch position, and now it wont change at all, but it does still kick on the A/C when I move it over to defrost, is there a fuse or something that would control this? I dont belive its a cable controlling it as the breakout diagram some one else posted of the controls showed only a cable to the temp blend selector, which means its an electrical option I think, any ideas guys?

4th Generation Mode Switch Problems

Judd,
I recently had the same problem with my 98 Camry. I first replaced the front panel mode switch, relatively easy but didn't work. I replaced the air outlet servomotor located on the driver side, and that worked. The air outlet servomotor was very difficult to replace. Removal of the drivers seat did help. The vent control plate (my term) is attached to the A.O servomotor shaft via snap pins that can be difficult to release. I have the video used to discover this attachment, taken after a weekend of trying to get it off. The part number for the air servomotor is 87106-06060. I will try getting the video uploaded. Being my first post, One step at a time.
BTW the defroster switch position turns on the AC via diferent terminals. Hope this helps.
Rich

Do you have that video? I'm having the same problem and will probably have to do this. Thanks.
