Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Got a 98 Camry and it looks like I can't install Fog light's on the car. I have the stock bumper cover and from what I can tell I can't install the fog light's unless they go under the bumper. I can't find a new one that has the holes for the lights. Any one been able to install some on fog lights on the stock bumper?
thing is how did he do it. i found the pic and saw the message. where did he get the bum,per from cause i have been looking but haven't found one did he make the holes and then glued it back on or what.
Gracia bumpers have them for the gen 4 but they are extremely rare and expensive. I'd just recommend cutting into the bumper yourself and mounting the fogs that way.
You could still simple mount the fogs behind the bumper cover, that way you don't have to cut up the bumper. It wouldn't be stock but still works. The Gracia bumper is another option as everyone said but is hard to find. Another option is to find a USDM fog lamp kit which has two round lamps and bezels but still required you to cut the bumper.
I see what your saying i never thought i could mount them behind the bumper. Can you recommend a set that the housing wont melt once i switch over to HID fog lights.
I can't find the cable to my external hard drive to get the picture of the box. The housing I got was the Wal-Mart "Driving Light Kit" about $20. Autozone does have a similar product. It has a glass lens and metal case. I just use the housing and wiring but I got my own relay, Sylvania blubs, and OEM switch. The lamps have held up very well after driving through floods and the lights are on anytime the engine is running. (DRL set up). Be sure to get the kit with "SAE" molded in the glass, usually better quality.
I did the same as Yuko, with the same kit from Wal-Mart. Kit holds up well especially with 100Watt bulbs instead of the 55Watt that comes stock. Though I did have to upgrade all the wires.
bump anybody heard from perk? He left a visitor message and I messaged him back but he hasn't been on since the 7th. i even offered to help him install the fogs sinces hes only like an hour away
