1994 V6 Camry Cigarette Lighter Won't work/charge even after replacement

Hi. I have looked at the forums to see if I could locate a magical fuse or relay that will solve my problem, but there doesn't appear to be one. My cigarette lighter stopped charging my devices. I have replaced it with one that I bought at an auto parts store. But same result.

My thinking is that somewhere the charger/lighter is totally disconnected, or that something is burned out. The last thing I ran on it was an air pump through a AD/DC converter and then it stopped working. However, the fuse in the lower left panel in the interior of the car is still good, and if it weren't, as others have indicated, the radio would not be working.

Thanks very much. I have already bought a lighter. Do you think maybe it was too generic. Do you think I need a Toyota part? I'd be happy to try another part.

Thanks for any tips.

Thinking out loud: Stick a multimeter on the wires running into it and be sure there's 12 volts getting there. That would be my starting point. If you aren't seeing 12 volts, then there has to be a break or short somewhere. Hmmm.

^this.
do that and get back with us.

If you do get th 12v, then your cig lighter is bad. The one I have is the whole black tri piece and cig lighter input in one. (No actual cig lighter tho.) Got it from the junkyard and it works.

ALSO, check out the wagon crew thread. (Wagon Owner Sign-in)
We always like to see picture of fellow TNers wagons.

Thanks very much. Ha, a forum for wagons. I love it. It's been a long time since I posted. Yes, the wires are getting current, but it's not passing it to the outlet, so perhaps I need a Toyota part. Someone had said they had a spare one they could sell me so I'll look for that thread again in case they still have it.

Greetings to all from Houston.

Oh, so it was you, swagger_wagon468! Please let me know if you still have it and if I can still purchase it from you! Sorry to not have followed up better. Life is busy but not my beloved wagon is pretty much telling me, pay attention to me now or get stranded....

also, if you don't have it, do you see any reason why this wouldn't work?
