CV joint boot (outer) replacement - this is WILD!

OK, this has been viewed over 54,000 times. Surely someone has tried to do this. I have a broken boot on the passenger side of my '96 Camry, V6. I have replacement aftermarket boot kits in hand. I was gonna try the 'official' procedure, documented here this is a "how to" on replacing the passenger's side CV boots (warning- many photos)
and in my Toyota manual. However, if I can't get the bearing out of the engine mount, (thinking of using an air chisel with blunt end fitting) I was going to undo the 6 bolts on the inner CV and disassemble/reassemble with the inner axle still in the car.
Then I found this video. Anyone know if a regular boot will stretch over a cone like he shows, or is he using a special 'stretchy' universal boot?
(This looks like the boot that he is copying the technique from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=so9gM...eature=related )
And, any reason this wouldn't work just leaving the axle in, cutting off the old boot, and using a cone like this dude does? I have a small traffic cone that I'm sure will work....

OK, answering my own question: http://wn.com/Universal_CV-Boot_Installation
Now, can anyone tell me if this cone device will work with an aftermarket boot, or do I need a 'special' stretch-type boot?

PS: The fancy 'expensive' air-tool referred to by the old guy in the first vid is $135.00 http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...e=00-9951304-2

this replacement would probably be okay if you didnt have to replace the grease in the joint. if the boot is broken and the CV joint is still good, you need to take it apart and re-pack with fresh grease.

here is a link to replace the boot without removing that inner bearing...

this is a "how to" on replacing the passenger's side CV boots (warning- many photos)
