Plz help to find parts

Hi guys,

As I live in Hungary, Europe it is bit hard to find certain parts for my Californian 1992 2.2 DX.

I managed to break off my driver's side door handle in the winter. I called basically every Toyota-related salvage yards, specialized Japanese vendors, without luck. In this country, the dosage of Camrys is quite homeopathic, and it is nearly impossible to find a good donor car, and totally impossible to find one with the unpainted handles.

I ordered a replacement handle from Ebay, as it was reasonably cheap, shipping was quick. However, the part fits poorly, and keeps tensioning the lock mechanism so that the lock pops open after the central locking locks it. As the replacement handle was a bit bigger in overall dimensions than the original, I had to cut the thin plastic backing plate/frame, so the water can enter the inner side of the door more easily.

So, I'm looking for an unpainted driver's door handle with the plastic "frame" behind it, an undamaged cup for the mirror adjuster switches, and a healthy beverage holder. These are item I can't order here because my car is made in USA. My local Toyota dealer (a friend) can order a door handle but US$102 is a bit steep for it IMO.

I searched the parts marketplace of the forum, but it was a bit inconclusive, so I decided to post this here.

TIA!

Was the part you ordered from ebay a Dorman brand?

Good question. Don't know the brand, but the part itself is slightly different from the original, as it has a smooth, shiny surface texture, which is very fingernail-sensitive and makes it obvious that it is not an original Toyota part.

Functionally it works basically okay, but the tension in the lock mechanism is definitely a sign of subpar quality.

Edit: I bought it from buygreatdeals2010
