Im hunting for a nice sounding, affordable muffler. Wether it offers HP gains or not doesnt matter, i just dont want it to be TOO restrictive.
Ive done alot of Craigslist hunting, and ive found a few that im waiting on, but i wanted to get more people opinions and experiences with different types of mufflers and different brands.
So, what kinds are there? what have you had the best results with? how much was it? FYI, i already have a custom exhaust, from the header on.
Ive been looking at Glasspacks, since theyre SOO cheap, but i have no idea how long they last, i wouldnt want to replace them once a month. But i dont know, hence the thread
Thanks

If you want a good muffler, you will need to spend a decent amount, about $200 at minimum. I'm currently checking out the Apexi WSII exhaust. You should check it out.
I alreday have an idea, i want it to have a nice deep grumble at idle, but i dont want it to shoot up like crazy when i accelerate. Ill just mess around and see what happens.

maganflow is the BEST out there for us...and for you. tons of options from size, legnth and choice of tip. on top of that they are great quality. they are free flowing and a simple 2.5" will be fine with an NA 5sfe. with your setup, its gonna be hard to keep it quiet at higher RPMs and non restrictive.
Bird, I actually just got in from Putting a cherrybomb glasspack on(it was 20$), it doesnt sound anything like those videos, haha. It actually sounds really nice. Ill take a video soon. It has a nice mellow bump at idle, but when reving , it just gets louder, not that much higher pitched.
And no, straight pipe with no cat/res. 2.25 all the way.

It's funny you know, 20 years ago, I spent hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars trying to get a decent sound out of my 20R, then 22R, Celica, then once again out of my 82', 1.8 Hemi Corolla. (can't rem. engine desig on the Corolla). The Magnaflow sounds great to me, geez I wish they had that in the old days! Today, I want a switch to turn the noise on and off. Mostly off. But when I'm feeling like telling everyone about car performance, the Magnaflow would be my sound.
