wheel not spinning?

'98 camry CE (manual transmission, front wheel drive)

I was doing a burnout a while back because my brother-in-law and I like to see who can pull the longest skid on our dirt drive-way. I always do. But he told me he didn't see my tire spinning on the passenger side while I was doing this. It was moving, but wasn't spinning as fast as it should have been he said. Well, I pull a 30ft skid today and come back home. I only see one tire mark from my car. Driver's side again.

Was turning to the left while skidding, driver's side (left) was leaving a trail, passenger's (right) was not. What's going on here? I thought weight distribution (gravity) would force the car to skid on the passenger side if I was pulling left. Is there something wrong with my car?

You have an open differential. Sink your passenger side tire into some mud and leave the driver side tire on the road. Your passenger side tire will spin and the driver side won't move. Fixed

If you want both to spin, you need LSD or a hub locker.

Ah, so long as something weird didn't happen. I didn't think about it, but if something were actually wrong with one side not generating power and spinning, I would have a 'pull'.
