suspension noob

hey guys i drive a 95 coupe, ive done some work to it already (rims, intake, exhaust, depos, tints, etc) and im kind of not liking the wheel gap on my car.. originally i was planning on getting a set of tokicos, and some eibach lowering springs.. but not im kind of short on money and was thinking about JUST getting new springs. is this a really bad idea? or do you think it will get the job done. thanks

I have just springs in my coupe. Not sure who makes them, it came with them. Granted, i havent driven it much( im rebuilding it), they guy i got it from didnt say anything bad about em. He did mention that they were really "bouncy" though. So id get stiff ones if you can find em.

Nice new stiff springs on mushy old struts is just going to kill your struts even worse/faster than they already are. Save up and do the shocks at the same time. You'll also want to replace the upper strut mounts (OEM TOYOTA ONLY PLEASE) and maybe other rubber bits. I tell people to figure about $1000 max.

dont make the mistake so many have in the past. wait till you can afford all the needed pieces before you go installing parts here and there. How much were you looking to pay? i have a spare tokico/H&R setup sitting around you could get for pretty cheap if you have a V6. PM me if ya want details.

Dont just do springs please. Buy your springs now and save for the rest. Strut mounts are a must. Ken is right Toyot OEM only! AND its really worth it to save and get the right stuff.
