3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
A while back I sold my camry and bought an F-150. I love my truck but someone hit me and I don't know how long the insurance hassle is going to take. So in the meantime I'm looking for another set of wheels. I spotted a camry almost identical to my old one a few blocks from my place sitting beside someones house looking lonely. Today I'm going to see if they'd let it go. I'm hoping I can get it cheap as there's gotta be something wrong mechanically with it.
The body looks good, so I'm hoping its engine trouble not the transmission. I would much rather tear apart the motor, I feel a lot less confident doing transmission work. Hopefully I can have another lucky steal of a deal and be back in a camry. If I get it, I think I'm going to do all the things I wasn't bold enough to try doing to my last one.

I have the best of both worlds! A mint 1993 V6 LE Camry, & a 2007 F-150 4x4 SuperCrew! The workhorse truck for my needs & the everyday commuter Camry!
I also have a new 2010 Harley Davidson FXDC SuperGlide Custom with $5000.00 in chrome & accessories! Its my summer stress reducer!....
Well it's been hectic lately so I haven't posted back. BUT. The guy that hit me had state farm and they finally resolved the dispute in my favor. They gave me a rental friday and towed my truck to my local ford dealer's body shop. They didn't get a chance to inspect it Friday, but I'm hoping today I'll hear word on that. I doubt it's totalled, but we shall see.
The camry I spotted is still in my sights. The people never seem to be home, but I think I'm going to try again today and if they aren't there I'll leave a note.
My plan is if they total my truck, I'm going to use the money to most likely do a motor swap on my ranger. So I would need wheels in the meantime, so I'd try picking up that camry or another cheap one since I know them pretty much in and out. If they don't total it, I'm still going to try and get this one and fix it up and either keep it or flip it depending on how attached I get. We'll see what happens this evening
