I have a problem where the left signal sometimes won't flash, but I hear a very audible buzz from the flasher relay. The right signal and emergency flasher modes work with no issues. To get the left to signal, I push back up and down again until it flashes.
Given this, I figured that there is a short in the relay. I went to AutoZone and got a Tridon EP35 flasher relay. However, after installing it, left, right and emergency stopped working. I returned it and went to advance auto parts and got the same part again. The same thing happened, so I had to put the old flasher relay back in.
Is there some trick I don't know about to get the new relay to work. I really don't want to pay the dealer $40-50 for the OEM part. Any advice on this is greatly appreciated. Surely there's something I am missing. It shouldn't be this hard to fix this issue.
