Question NEW/used Rims?

Hi, I was looking to class up my 1999 Camry a bit by trying to find some rims.

http://cedarrapids.craigslist.org/pts/2297381869.html

Obviously I don't have the cash for new ones. These came off an Avalon (same bolt pattern) and I believe the stock size for the Camry is 14". This are 16" with the tires. She said the tires are no more than 3 years old, and only used as summer tires, have been in storage for about 2 or 3 years.

a) What are your opinions on this?
b) If I have a full size spare that came with the car (14"??), would it be a problem to use if I got a flat at some point in the future with these rims? (at least to get to the shop for repair)

Thanks in advance

If there's no sights of dry-rot on the tires or cracks in the wheels, they should bolt up fine. Be sure to have the correct style lug nuts. I'm not sure what you meant by the spare thou.

Sorry, the fact that the spare is a different size rim from the rest, would that really mess up the differential?

As long as the overall diameter of your Camry tire is closed to the Avalon tire, you should be fine. Most of the newer Camry have compact spares that are smaller than the factory tire. It's not recommended to drive fast or far with a spare on the drive axle because the differential can heat up and fail. Not really a problem with open-differential like our Camry. But a long use of a small spare on the drive axle of a limited-slip or center-lock can cause them to fail due to the constant strain. A big issue with Subaru.

Ahh. Well good to know, thanks! Now to figure out the size of the tires those wheels have...

And I assume that's your car in your signature, did you just mount some foglights behind the bumper grill? I was considering doing that.

Yep, I mounted the fogs lamp behind the bumper cover on the metal beam to avoid cutting up the bumper. I do lose some of the light but it work nicely.

We have a thread about the fogs here: Fog lighting

As for the wheel, the center bore, offset, and bolt pattern is the same and should fit fine. But the craigslist link no longer works.
