If your car has the 4 cylinder 5SFE engine some vibration at idle when in drive is normal. How bad is the vibration? In either case, I recommend cleaning the throttle body. It should help smooth the idle a bit but as I said earlier, there will always be some vibration at idle in drive with this engine. Here's a good DIY on cleaning the throttle body on the 5SFE engine.

When the car is shift on drive the idle goes lower than 1000rpm and even sometimes it died out at stop sign when full stop.

normal idle in Neutral gear is supposed to be at 750+/-50rpm (all electrical accessories off) on gen3. nowhere near a 1,000rpm.

in Drive (at full stop) it could drop like 100rpm below idling speed in Park/Neutral, that's normal.

dying at stoplights (<500rpm?) or idling in Park at 1,000rpm is NOT normal. try cleaning the TB and spraying some cleaner into IAC hole and see if it helps to stabilize the idle speed.

Clean the throttle body and idle air control..it sounds better but then when I try to drive in the freeway still have the chogging feeling of the engine as it picks up power to enter the freeway. It seems like a cut off current or fuel. It rans good though only sucks when acceleration climbs up every gear. Any ideas....

when did you do the minor tune up for the last time? I mean spark plugs, wires, air filter and fuel filter?

I just did the whole nine yards of timing belt, water pump, new spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, coil and believe me the head gasket too together with lower mileage cylinder head.

My car has 300k miles on it till it starts overheating so I decided to do the headgasket cause the overheating wasn't fix with the thermostat alon. Plus I decided to drop another head with lower mileage on it. I decided it right cause the car came alive powerful again it just that my problem is the chogging on the idle when I accelerate.

I would guess you have a vacuum leak somewhere.
