Smile Camry Engine Vibration

Hi Everyone:

I have a 1994 Camry, 4 cylinder with a five-speed manual transmission with 188,000 miles. It has always run well, but now I'm having acceleration problems in 3rd, 4th and 5th gears, and it is accompanied by a slight vibration of the engine, which I can feel on my foot through the gas peddle. 1st and 2nd gears are fine -- lots of power -- but when I shift to the higher gears that's when I noticed the lack of power and the vibration. As soon as I reach speed and am no longer accelerating, the engine is smooth and there is no vibration. I don't have any idea what this could be. Can anyone suggest something?

Thank you.

Karen

Check your engine mounts, 4 cylinder tends to get vibration on the steering wheel and the chasis itself as the mounts starts to wear out (nothing serious, but annoying), my 94 gen3 2.2l camry automatic also have this problem, but it does that randomly and most the time it does not bother me.

There are 4 mounts, front, rear, side (the so called "dog bone mount") and transmission mount, my personal guess would be the transmission mount, but that's just a guess from a newbie so you might want to have a pro to check it out for you first.
