3rd Generation Power Window Issues

Hey all,

My front right passenger window will go down but not up. I've already replaced the switch and the motor/regulator for it as well. If i reverse the polarity on the motor I can get the window to go up by pushing down on the switch, but I cant get the up motion of the switch to work. This is for both the master driver side switch and the front passenger switch. I tested the continuity on the front passenger switch and the power is getting thru the switch when it is pulled up (pins 1 and 5 per my manual).

Anyone seen this before? I'm at a loss of what this could be as I've verified all the equipment is working in one way or another. Could this possibly be an electrical issue from the switch to the motor for the up motion? If so, does anyone know the wiring for that?

Subscribing.
Sorry but I'm of no use so far as a good answer goes on how to fix your problem but I love threads like this. I'm always curious as to what the final fix turns out to be.

Good luck on the repair. This board seems to be pretty good from what I can tell so far. I'm sure somebody will come along and offer up some good info for you to consider.

Please check the wires inside the rubber boot between the driver's door and body for breaks.

Driver door or front passenger door? I can see how it could be both, but I'll check the driver side first when i get home tonight.

Driver's side. The constant opening and closing of the driver's side door causes the wires to fatigue, and eventually break.
