Issues after lowering(NEED HELP!)

Ok so I have a 92 camry 2.2L and I've just finished a major rebuild from the ground up with it. I replaced every suspension bushing, added a whiteline RSB, swaped rear drums to disc, and bought some tokicos with 2 inch drop springs. Now I've never put struts in b4 so I'm not sure if this is right or wrong so here goes. I bought new strut mounts, and after putting the springs in and threading the strut bolt through there's still a considerable gap between the top of the spring and the strut mount. So basically if you jack up the car it kinda falls a bit, but a few people i talked to said that was normal since it's a "drop spring". But, after putting everything together I hear a really loud grinding sound whenever I turn the wheels. It doesn't make this sound if you turn the wheels with the car lifted on jackstands, so I'm assuming the springs are loose and causing the noise? Should I have used some type of spacers to put between the springs? It seems odd to me though, I would think the weight of the car would prevent that, my worse fears is that the axles are whats making the sound, but I can't really pinpoint the sound too well since it doesn't make it when it's on a lift. Any ideas? The strut center bolts are torqued to spec, I believe its 38, but would since these are lower springs would more torque help any? I know I've done something wrong, but I double checked every other bolt for the rest of the suspension and its tight.

this is a common problem with shit springs like D2 or sprint and our lack of shock options. there is no way to fix this. when you jack it up there will always be a gap. if the shocks have a bushing on the bottom of the strut then over time teh springs will naturally resettle into place (like breaking in a pair of flipflops) but when you remove all compression from the suspension you will always want to check the springs to make sure they are seated right.

your other option is to get some good springs.

well there are no bushings on the bottom of the strut, just metal against metal. Should I maybe fabricate something? But what about the grinding sound? The spring shouldn't be moving at all when the cars weight is holding it down should it?
