Rear Sway Bar/Link Question

I just put 4 new quick struts and my Gen4 rides much nicer (I'm a beginner so am pretty proud of myself!). I did the sway bar links too. But I'm still hearing clunking.

Are there any plastic or rubber bushings that may need to be replaced on the sway bar or lateral link that may be causing the clunk? Thanks a lot, guys, thanks to you all I did the suspension all by myself!

You're supposed to insert a allen head wrench into the NUT end, and use a wrench to tighten against it. The OEM ones are a PITA that way. I would have gone after market for that ONE reason. But to each his own.

The noise. Either worn out UPPER strut mounts (or non-OEM ones), an improperly torqued main bolt (the big center nut on the top of the strut that keeps the spring compressed.... these can also loosen over time), or bad RSB bushings. Those are my guesses.

Also check the lateral link like you said, or control arm bushings. My friend's camaro had clunking from the passenger rear almost all the time, the lateral control arm was bad.

The clunking sound is caused by worn rear sway bar bushings. The good news is that they are cheap and easy to replace. Get Moogs they last twice as long as other after market brands.
