FANS running all the time

Okay I changed out my old ECT switch because I thought that was the reason my fans were staying on even tho the motor was not running nor hot because with my old switch it did not matter if it was plugged in or not the fans were STILL ON so after I flushed the system and installed the new one and plugged everything back in. they still run even if motor is not running and it's cold...NOT "HOT". SO I checked all relays and when I unplug them, fans stop on one-side depending on what relay I unplug. So I connected 2 wires to the switch and the plug it self and it still did not stop them from running......I'm all out of ideas Lest step is taking her to Toyota right? and I might add that the fans are running FAST, not lazy

most likely the radiator fan switch connector is unplugged, fans will run all the time if that happens.
fan switch on 4cyl model is located in bottom of radiator on passenger side, make sure it's plugged in there and make sure the short harness going from it is plugged into car wiring harness joint connector located on the shroud of driver side fan (close to battery).

also make sure the Fan no.1 and Fan no.2 relays are not stuck in Main Fuse box on driver side under hood (knock on them on running car to see if it changes anything).

do they turn on right after you start the car or it takes some time for them to start turning?

wiring might be broken somewhere cutting the circuit.

also check the wiring harness ground points behind both head lamps and on the back of engine by firewall (passenger side, below intake runner for cylinder# 1).

do you have CEL on? any other faults? is the CEL coming on when you turn the ignition key to ON position (before cranking engine) and then goes off after you start engine?

I assume you have the A/C turned off and even if it is ON it cycles and not keeps running the compressor at all times?

what fan switch did you use for replacement, was it OEM?

might be worth checking if there is continuity between its terminals when coolant is cold, there shouldn't be any unless coolant is hotter than 90C.

you may need to start checking continuity between wire sections on both ends between fan switch and harness connector where it joins the main harness (on driver side fan's shroud).

if all that checks out, then it's only about relays or bad wiring from fan switch being shorted to ground (closing circuit permamently no matter what condition fan switch is in).
