Hi everyone, I am a recent new Toyota owner, a 2001 Camry to be exact. Love the car, but speedo is crazy, at a start 60 miles an hour by the end of the driveway and peged past 140 by about 25 mph. I am running about 16 miles for every 10 I drive. I have tried a speed sensor from another car at a local pick and pull lot. Nothing changed. Any ideas? I hate running the miles up. Thanks.

check the vehicle speed sensor installed in top of transmission (differential) and its wiring to the dash cluster.

If speed sensor goes bad it usually throws P0500 code, so check the wiring first, e.g. loose plugs on the back of dash instrument cluster (combo meter which then is connected to ECU).
