any help installing keyless?

i read chris crash post here DIY: How to install keyless entry and think im willing to give this a shot as my once a month projects. Part i am unsure of is, he said he ran a line for the constant v (or something like that ) himself directly from the battery. How do you do that? Is there an easier way? any one have pics of a self install.

I have been tempted the past couple years to just pay best buy the $150 for their viper keyless system installed, but if i think i can do it myself and only pay $50 then ill give it a shot

WIRING IS NOT TO BE PLAYED WITH. How about we invest in a $10 multimeter? I HATE test lights with passion. If you don't know what your doing, you can fry stuff. But yes... one way to pick up a 12 volt constant is to tap into the ignition harness. You can access that by removing the lower dashboard and following wires. The12volt.com is helpful for that as well. If you want to run an independent wire to the battery (which is what I did) run is through the engine bay (USING ZIP TIES) to the rubber boot that runs into the driver's side fender, through the fender, and through the firewall on the driver's side. Remove the fender liner, and you'll see the boot i'm talking about.

after 2 days of unscrewing stuff and asking questions im hoping to do this thing in the morning.

i TOOK the bottom part of dash off to try to see where the ignition wiring harness is located pics are below.

I had a couple questions does the harness connector release out easily like other connectors?

I have 2 circles of what i think may be the ignition wiring harness circled in green and red. Which one is it? the12volt.com says the constant is the white. On one of the harnesses i see what looks like atleast 2 white wires in same harness.

do i need to strip some insulation to use the multimeter or can i reach metal in the connector?

ANY OTHER HELP welcomed

It's been awhile since I replaced my keyless entry/alarm system but I believe neither of those harnesses are for the ignition. I think you need to pop off that plastic trim at the top of your pictures (it covers the bottom of the steering wheel). I think its under there. I have a thread from somewhere that I printed and it had great directions and pictures. I'll see if I can find it. Might even be able to PDF if and send it to you via email.
