4th Generation DIY: Gen4 Camry jack points

After discussion in some other threads, I decided to post photos of what I consider the jack points on the Gen4 Camry. The side locations are fine for factory scissor jack, but not for jack stands or hydraulic jacks IMO.

I put my jack under this subframe point under front center:

I put my jack stand for front end here:

I put the jack for rear end past gas tank here:

And lastly I put jack stands for rear end here, note it's a bit forward of the point you'd use for the factory jack.

Hope this helps.

Your jacking points appear to be correct. The jackstand points should be where the half moon cutouts are for the car's scissor jack at each of the 4 conners of the frame rails.

Thanks for clearing this up. It should help a lot of people be able to safely raise and block their car!

good pics, thanks

I use jack points as in picture #1 & 3.

For jack stand points I use sub-frame sides (for front), below the fenders kinda behind the front wheels. Somehow it's inconvenient for me to use larger 3t jack stand under pinch weld while using 2t compact jack (a little too low height).

In rear I use scissor jack stand points (pinch weld with half moon marks) for my 3t jacks, but I have to extend the 2t compact jack to full height before I can insert them. Sometimes I use scissor jack to raise the car higher then my 2t compact jack allows, depending on ground surface and level (rarely flat around here).

Bulge on crossmembers = trolley jack points.

I place jackstands on a flat spot near the scissor jack points.

On the front of the gen 4 i believe there are 2 round pads for jacks. this is used esp in tyre shops with their workshop trolley jacks.

What I tend to do is, use bottle jacks to jack up the side of the car where the factory scissor jacks points. from there i will either use workshop stands to get to those points and some bricks and a plank on the bottom and top of the brick stack to further support the car.

Can the jack stand be placed anywhere along the frame? I bet its preferred to place it on a spot on the frame most parallel to the ground?

I am using this as a reference for my Highlander.
