Engine Light
My 1996 Camry 2.2 engine warning light came ON occasionally. I sent it to the workshop for a scan. However, the multiscan gave an error message of fail comm after about 20 seconds of diagnostic. The mechanic think that his scanner software version is not compatible and may need to be updated. Nevertheless he said from the flashing of the engine light when the scanner was hooked on, he can tell what is at fault. Th engine light flash once pause, then twice then pause, keep repeating. From this he told me its the knock sensor fault. Before I replace the knock sensor which is pretty costly, can you verify this claim is true.
