my 98 uses the double grounded platinum plugs... do you have a distributor on your engine? or was the engine ever replaced?

According to the 98 Camry owner's manaul on page 150 it states "Twin ground electrode platinum-tipped spark plugs". On page 226 it gives Spark Plug Type as either:

DENSO 20TR11 or
NGK BKR6EKPB11

The twin-ground electrode plug is standard on these waste spark systems (BKR6EKPB-11):

However, NGK Iridium-IX (BKR6EIX-11) works too on these engines according to NGK:

If you want a cheaper version of platinum plug, the thin center electrode GPower (BKR6EGP) is a good alternative:

Thanks very much for the quick responses, both have original stock engines, 280k and 190k respectively. The '99 is running smooth but a little tired, I planned on doing a compression check and changing the plugs in the process. Castrol 5w-30w, stock filter, no abnormal oil consumption, air filter clean. The current plugs probably have about 90k on them, ignition wires look original.
Thanks again for the posts.
