Bad motor mounts? (Video included)

95 Camry, 5SFE, 249000 miles

In the video included below you'll see the engine as I shift Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, 2, 1, and then back again. Are my mounts shot? Thanks in advance!

Could be mount issue. Check to see if your mounts are Cracking (Transmission and dog-bone). The front and back will be harder to diagnose.

Is it shifting hard into the gears??

If so, a possibility COULD be that the pin inside the differential walked itself out a bit and now when you shift it into Gear (Park to Drive) or Neutral to Drive or Park to Reverse, the differential is moving the distance that the pin has walked out.

if you dont notice any harsh engagement between P, R, or D I would say the differential pin is probably OK.

I would say Mounts are a probability, but its hard to tell from the video. It doesn't look like its moving much to me personally.

I guess it's possible I'm nit-picking a little bit, but it does seem to be shifting harder than it used to. The dog bone is in great condition. I'm mostly concerned about the front and back mounts, which are harder to examine.

Yeah, it could be the front or rear mounts..... The front mount is Hydraulic, so you can pull the rubber cover up and look for leakage. the Rear is Rubber, so it will be a little tougher to find a problem unless theres a huge crack or something.

if dogbone is looking good and absolutely no cracks anywhere, then likely both front and rear mounts are good.

transmission mount?

Hi. I have a 98 Lexus ES300 with the A541E transmission with harsh engagement between P and R (clunk). Does my differential have the pin you that you mentioned above? If so, how can I check if it is not in its original position?

Thanks!
