Doing a Timing Belt on 97 Camry - Couple Questions

1. I believe I'm going to do the Oil Pump "spaghetti" seal and I've read the Oil Pump bolts have a very light torque on them. I cant seem to find what to torque them to. Anyone know?

2. Are the Crankshaft Bolt and Camshaft Bolt both 80 ft/lb torque?

Thanks!

According to Autozone's free repair guide:

8.8 Nm or 78 in-lb for pump body.
However, I think Autozone's free guide has a mistake, showing 7.8 in-lb. If you do the "spaghetti", "UFO" or whatever people call the o-ring pump body seal, you should do the pump shaft seal, and the pump sprocket is 18 lb/ft.

So sign up with Autozone's free guide and go through the pages. Or pick up a Haynes manual at your local Pep Boys.

I had no idea about the autozone free site. I had been a member of alldatadiy.com (which sucks big time compared to autozones site BTW) and it didn't have everything I needed. Thanks very much for the tip! I'd rather be taught to fish than fed a fish anytime..

Actually Autozone bought AllData some years ago. They now offer AllDataDIY as a "premium" paid service. But in many cases the free repair guide offered enough info. Look under the "Repair Info" tab on Autozone.com.

BTW the cam sprocket is happy with 40 lb/ft, so don't go 80 as you do on the crank.
