1999 Camry LE Radio won't turn on

Hi i have 1999 Camry LE. One day i turned on the car and the radio would not turn on. No light came on the display. Im thinking its most likely a Fuse problem? So i was wondering how to fix this. Do i have to replace a fuse? If so, which fuse do i need to replace and where is it located? i lost the manual since the car is so old. Thank you for all the help!

Also on a different note, What is the cheapest / easiest way to install an AUX input to the radio? i just want to hook up my iPhone to the cars speakers.

Thanks again!

To the left of the steering wheel, the fuse panel is behind the coin holder. That can be easily pulled out and if it's like my 01'; there should be a label on the coin holder that show what each fuse is. I believe the radio is a 10A fuse. The easiest and cheapest way to connect your iPod to the radio is with a cassette adaptor (if available). It's like $10 at most stores and provides good sound with the iPod volume max and the radio turn down low.

If the fuse is blown, you can get replacements from Walmart, AutoZone, the gas station, etc. anywhere that sales auto parts. Prices are about the same. Simply look on the diagram on the back of the coin holder (if it had one and mind is labeled as “Rad No.2”) Use it to locate the radio fuse (furthest right column and one row down) Pull it out with a needle nose pliers and you'll know if it's blown, the metal is visible, darken, and broken. Get a new 7.5A mini fuse and push it back in.

The orange arrow shows the fuse location, the orange circle shows the fuse amperage on my 01' but your99' may be different so double check. (Ignore the red and black wires in the pic, those were add-ons)

As for the cassette adaptor; the Phillips brand at Walmart has the best quality for $10 or so.

Thanks a lot! ill try it out and get back.

My cassette player seems to be broken because whenever i try playing a cassette or cassette adapter it makes a loud grinding noise. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!
