95 Camry, 5SFE, 250k

Well I'm embarrassed to admit that I've gone all these years without realizing that I should be using ATF rather than ordinary power steering fluid in this car. I have never flushed the system, but occasionally I'd top it off with PSF. As of now, I have no problems with my steering whatsoever, so maybe if it ain't broke, I shouldn't go fixing it! However I was wondering if I flush the system with ATF, is there any chance this will cause problems, since its been running on PSF for so long? Or should I just leave it alone since its not giving me any trouble? Thanks in advance.

You should definitely do a flush, or if you're lazy or don't have the right tools/hoses to do a flush, then use a turkey baster. Use the baster to suck out as much fluid as you can, then top it off, run the engine for 30 seconds. Do this several times and you will have swapped out most of the old fluid.

Use something better than the basic dino ATF if OP doesn't go Mobil-1 fully synthetic ATF. Castrol Import Multi-vehicle ATF or Walmart's SuperTech Mercon-V will do too.
