Was I not supposed to take apart the window regulator motor?

So I went to the yard today and found 2 Toyota motors. Well, if anyone is familiar with how they look...there's the Black metal part and inside that there is a giant magnet with a bunch of wires soldered together.

Well, you can unscrew that part from the regulator and pull it out. Well that's what I did. Well when I went to go put it in my window, it didn't work. Both of them. Then I put mine back in that was working but rolling up very slowly even stopping halfway. And even that didn't work either! I can't even get the window to go down anymore.

Apparently I screwed something up inside the regulator and now I have to go all the way back across town tomorrow and get the whole window regulator set

As an update, according to the guy at the yard they are NOT supposed to be taken apart. For some reason once they do it's ruined.
