Trying to put back together a window motor regulator
Look at this bullshit! I been trying all day long to get this stupid window motor's cable to fit properly so I can put it onto the motor and roll up my window. But no, this stupid piece of shit won't wrap properly. How in the hell am I supposed to wrap 2 opposing wires together to make them tight enough to stress the compression cable to hold the damn window glass up?
I was able to replace the motor on the back window fine. But the front window was all greasy and shit and the damn thing slipped out my hand and uncoiled. So tomorrow it's off to the yard to just by the whole damn assembly for $50
Unless....someone can help me tonight!

OK, here we go. The top one is the closest I can get but the thing is when it's in that position it's not right. I can't fit the Black wire part into the plastic piece where the rail is. When I tried putting it on earlier like that the window wouldn't work.
And what makes the front window so bad from the back is the back window has a little screw which you can move to control the window. The front one is regulated by the cable so in order for it to stay rolled up, it has to be on very tight. I was trying to remove a window regulator from a car today in pouring rain standing in mud at the junkyard but I couldn't get it to budge because I would have had to unclip the cable and wound up right where I am now. The only way to get it to go down is to plug it in and roll it doww.

Yes, I completely agree with you that this is one of the stupidest designs ever. See if you can wind one side into the spool by applying power to the motor (or manually), and then with a helper apply power in the other direction and let the spool take up the second cable, while holding onto the first one and help it extend out.
I have to say I was not successful at it and end up getting a fleaBay one. Yeah what a POS design.

Same here, I did it without much success and ended up going to flebay route as well...

Well good idea. However manually I cannot turn the motor. I'm just so obsessed with trying to get it to fit but it keeps falling off at either one of the ends once I get the spool tight enough. I just knew when that thing slipped out my hand there would be hell to pay LOL.
And the diagrams on **********s is a complete piece of crap. They don't say which way the spool is supposed to be turned and make it sound so easy and simple

How much time did you spend on it before you finally gave up LOL?
About 1.5 hours before I told myself that is simply wasn't worth the amount of time I'm spending on it considering how much my hourly rate is and how much a new assembly costs

I was going to install my compressor next month but after all this I don't even want to do it. I hate getting stuck on projects and not having a helper to hold something

Having a helper makes life soooo much easier when working on a car, especially if they know their way around a car too...

Well, i was on the right track...I swapped a manual door to a power, then I switched the motor from the one that wasn't working to a new one...and all was well until I got to the passenger side door.
But I do know my transmission flush might be alone
