4th Generation Cold Engine - Won't Start

Ok, here is the deal. When i go to garage in the morning to warm-up my 97 Camry (2.2L i4), it won't start up on its own. Every time I have to kind of rev it with acceleration pedal, then it will launch. It only happens when its cold. Sad part is that I have remote start installed. And when I try to start it up remotely, seems like starter would start then it makes weird noise like a jet startup, then I turn it off immediately. I think it started doing this when I installed an air cold intake. Now I drive without cold intake, just regular filter, but the problem wouldn't go away. Any thoughts?

Sticking starter solenoid plunger. Probably caused the starter gear to be engaged to the flexplate.

Autozone and maybe other parts stores offer free testing.

For the cold start problem check the engine coolant temperature sensor (2-wire deal). See message #47 of this thread:
ECT switch, sensor or sender ? planning to replace

Maybe it's time to clean the IAC? If you do you should disassemble it.
5sfe IAC Removal (lots of pictures)
