Hail Damage

I have suffered some hail damage. It is particularly bad on the hood. There are maybe thirty or fourty really small dings. I don't think I can post a picture because they are too small unless the reflection hits them just right. There was only a couple of other very slight dings on the rest of the car.

What is my best course of action to repair them? Does the hood have to be replaced, or does that paintless dent repair actually work. The car is a 2000 LE that looked great before this. I want to get it repaired, but I am not sure about calling the insurance Co.

Any thoughts or Info. would be appreciated.

The last time I had hail damage on a car, the insurance adjustor told me if there were more than like 5 dents on a hood or trunk lid, it was cheaper to replace it than to repair the dents.

hail damage sucks... how is the roof of your car?

hood and trunk lid are quite easy to replace, especially worth it this way if insurance covers it under comprehensive premium (minus deductible)

local body shop will charge you an arm and leg for fixing each ding with a filler and re-painting the whole thing, especially if three is a lot of dings...

Paintless dent removal is the way to go. If its not really bad I would leave it though. Any route you take is gonna be expensive.
