GEN3 Extended Armrest

I was wondering if anyone knows if the optional extended armrest was made to fit 92 Gen3 4CYL 5SPD with handbrake center console.

I am having a hard time getting it to fit and have come to a realization that it is not a direct fit.

Can someone shed some light on this

What do you mean by extended? There are two versions of the console, one with the handbrake, and one with cars that have the foot brake. The larger, longer armrest is used on cars that have the foot brake. There is also an armrest that fits on top of the handbrake console lid, it is also known as the comfy cushion. It's just like it sounds, it's a soft, padded cushion that clips onto the existing lid.

The console from a 1997-2001 Camry can also be made to fit, but you will have to do some cutting and modifying and it will not fit 100%.

edit - maybe you are asking if the larger console will fit onto a car with a handbrake. The answer is no, you would have to install the foot brake. Don't know why anyone would do that, I converted my foot brake to a handbrake because I hated the foot brake with a passion.

Ok, I'll contribute here. +1^ on all the stuff from 71'Corolla. There are two different consoles, for #1 your handbrake set-up, and #2 for a little sought after option of having a footbrake/parkbrake, as in your dads old Oldsmobile. I just replaced my footbrake as well, and the only thing I miss about it other than space for junk storage, is the armrest part. Now we all have to be a little creative and build a wild custom armrest, that provides a good place to rest our right arm which should be conected to the steering wheel, according to driving manuals. I'm currently making a top secret design for a cozy.. It needs final approval from Tia Maria, my design consultant, but I'll show it off soon. Tia Maria. Breed: Poodle, Status: second most intelligent breed in the canine realm, Car Preferances: upholstery with good traction, classical music, gentle acceleration and cornering while viewing scenery. Sorry honey!

Yea I am talking about the comfy cushion. I can't get that to fit my center console that has a handbrake. The comfy cushion won't snap in on top of the existing hard armrest cushion

Try again? I have both the lid and the comfy cushion that I bought as a set, but the cushion does snap into my existing console lid.

I had to kind of slide mine on, instead of snapping it.

Damn, I got the even longer one. Most likely the one for the wagon or V6. Mine is short like your pictures. The cushion add-on I have is double the length. I think I am SOL
This is the one I got:

Seems I was getting a little silly on the "comfy cushin" thing. There really is an optional such thing. My moms good at sewing, but was or is this a real dealer/after market item? I saw mark/impressions on my new hand brake console that looked exactly like the one in the photos.

A longer comfy cushion? That I've never seen You learn something new every day. Pretty sure this is a Toyota part, it looks like it to me. Too bad mine is dark brown, I don't know what interior that's from but I don't remember seeing a Gen3 interior that colour. My previous 1993 came with the cushion, North American produced car. I'm wondering if these things were only on cars made in the United States.

My interior is dark brown also. This item is a dealer item. The long one I believe is for cars with foot brake or wagon. 71corolla, I want ur extended cushion

It is very rare

There are several on Ebay, none the colour you want though. If you're crazy like me, just get it re-covered in leather. Will feel nice and look great.
