weirdiest tranny problem ever help '

alright i bought a 96 camry v6 from my buddy the tranny was messed up in Park it wouldnt rev up like it was suppose to, reverse wouldnt move and neutral was a forward gear and 1,2,drive worked fine even o/d worked he drove it like tht for months then ive been driving it for like 3 months no problems till last night.coming home out of a corner it just revved up instead of going so i pulled over and none of the forward gears work now but park reverse and neutral all work like there suppose to so basically the tranny flip flopped on me for the gears any help would be nice cause i really need car for this weekend,pics of the linkage or neutral safety switch would be a big help im gona look at those later

You know what's crazy my old 96 Plymouth voyager did the same exact thing. In park it would rev to 2100rpm, reverse was neutral, Neutral was 1st gear and D 2 L was normal like you said. I drove it like this for about a month then it died. It sounds like yours may be dead as well. At that point the engine had a bad radiator, engine overheated multiple times and leaked from almost every seal. So we just donated it. I would get a >100k used transmission.

yea its just im a little tight on money right now a buddy found me one for 300 so ill have to see what i can do
