3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I sucked about a 3rd of the bottle in through the PCV line, and waited 5 minutes like the bottle says. When i started her back up, i let it idle for a bit, then started revving (nothing past 1500RPM) and there wasnt smoke or anything, i waited a while, then figured my engine must not have been that dirty.. When i drove away a little smoke came out, but other than that nothing.
I don't think the PCV valve was a good point of entry.
Whenever I used the brake booster port (at intake manifold via a rubber hose detached from actual brake booster) there was TONS TONS of white smoke for minutes. I actually had to go to highway and floor it to release all the smoke leftovers every time I did that
this movie shows how to do this via brake booster port easy:
note, you detach, booster vacuum line from booster or junction and use it to suck sea foam into intake manifold on running engine slowly (try not to make it shut down, listen to revs).
this is how effects look alike normally (even longer if it was real dirty):

Is this normal?

oh electrical power booster on lexus? sounds like a newer design than vacuum based thing ...
I think the difference between PCV and booster point of entry is that PCV sprays sea foam only on top of valve buckets (right under valve cover) while booster port sprays sea foam through intake manifold to all cylinders.
any vacuum line which starts at intake manifold should do.

It was a 2000 GS300 so I think they had them for a while. The engine actually had 2 pcv valves. I used the one on the right and I unplugged the hose going to the pcv valve and sucked it through there. You can see its right after the throttle body.

Same here, but I only let it sit for about a minute. That was at 117k, I might do it again at 140-145k.
The pcv line on my car (or so i thought it was..) sucked into the intake manifold, and connected to the top of the engine block, i would post a picture but i have no idea how to do that..
so maybe i sucked it into the wrong place? which would suck for me.. but some people say any vacuum line is fine as long as it gets to all of the cylinders.. or maybe my engine is just clean..
my grandparents had the oil changed right before i bought the car (about 600 miles ago)
so all i was doing the seafoam treatments separate, if thats ok? i never read anything about having to do all steps at once? (crankcase, gas tank, throttle body, and vacuum line)
if it helps, the car is a 2001 camry le (i4 auto trans) 145k miles.
