oil leak - oil pan or rear main seal? photos included

about a week ago my camry started to mark its territory with oil puddles (5" diameter circles on the ground when parked overnight). i am proactive in terms of catching oil leaks before they even drip on the ground, so a leak that just started and is this bad has me concerned. i crawled under to see what's leaking. as you can see in the photos ive replaced the oil pan gasket before, but that was years ago. this leak almost looks like its coming from the transmission inspection cover but i dont know if a rear main seal leak could end up being 'wet looking' this high (even with the top of the inspection cover). i tried to remove the inspection cover but there is one bolt that is nearly impossible to remove with the oil pan in place. i will go ahead and replace the oil pan seal, but wasnt sure if i should plan on the extensive rear main seal replacement.

this is a 1996 camry with 191k miles, 4 cylinder

.

where the oil is dripping from.

the highest wet area.

the only wet section around the lip of the pan (obviously i can see the side next to the transmission)

the last inspection cover bolt i cant gain access to.

Its hard to tell from the pictures. I think you should replace the pan gasket again just to be sure, and if it continues to drip change over to castrol 10w40 high mileage and call it a day.

If your running something thinner is should slow the leak down.
