What trans fluid for '98 V6?

All,

I used to purchase Castron Dexron-III from the stealership when doing trans. fluid changes. I called and they no longer carry Castrol and they sell some Toyota branded fluid that supposedly works in both Type-III and Type-IV transmissions. I'm skeptical...

What are some better trans fluid options? The best I could find was Castrol Multi-Import (http://www.castrol.com/castrol/secti...tentId=7028224) but I'd appreciate your insights.

Do not get transmission fluid from the dealer for your specific car. The dealer told my friend that their Toyota fluid would work in his Dexron III Tacoma, a couple days later the transmission needed rebuilding.

You need Dexron III, Castrol IMV works, Walmart ATF(Dex III), Penzoil Dex III, Valvoline Dex/Merc dino or Maxlife(synthetic). Mobil 1 ATF. The list goes on, just make sure its Dexron III fluid.
