White Smoke from Engine Bay

1998 V6 Camry with 1MZ-FE Engine.

Just changed rear valve cover gasket. First time it didn't seat properly (gasket got torn out of groove during re-fitting) and leaked a lot of oil. Lots of white smoke from engine bay while driving caused me to notice this.

Did it again (checking gasket was on properly before bolting down cover) and oil leak has gone.

There is still a small amount of white smoke coming from the engine bay after driving. Could this just be residual oil from the leak burning off or a more serious problem? Some (not much) coolant also leaked while I was removing the throttle body to make it easier to get the intake off, could this be a cause?

Yes, the white smoke is most likely the oil burning off, mine still smoked for a short time after I changed the gasket.

spray it with engine degreaser and wipe clean after a few minutes. may need to do this a few times, from under car.
