Question Which directions to Advance/Delay timing on Camry 4cyl, 94 ?

HI all,

Last year I advanced my timing 2-4 degrees (or something close to that).

Now I would like to do the inverse, delay the timing by the same amount.

I remember there are two bolts to loosen. Then the flange (on the left-hand side of the distributor ) can be moved up/down (Up means: clock-wise, Down: counter-clockwise).

The problem is I now forget Advancing the time is to move Up or Down the flange (turn distributor clockwise or counter-clockwise).

I'm standing besides Left-front wheel, on the Driver-side of the car.

Thank you for your guidance.

EDIT: I think I got the answer: turn distributor Clock-wise is to advance ignition timing (leaner, but possibly higher chance to damage old and original head).
turn counter clock-wise 3-4mm : delay timing.
