Y-Pipe Project

So i know theres a ton of threads out there with a custom y pipe for the 3vzfe, but i cant find any pictures! My exhaust guy said he has an idea for what he can do but said he would like a picture to Help him design me a custom ypipe. So if you could post up pics of your pipes i would appreciate it.
Also if any of you have dynos of before/after ypipe results, could you post those too

heh, i actually don't think anyone else has an custom y-pipe on the 3vz other than me here.
but yea, the easiest way to go is to get a good 1MZ one and chop off the joints to the exhaust headers and reweld them to fit the 3VZ

Yeah the obx is expensive and ive heard QC issues with them. Plus the design isnt all that different from factory minus the joint angle, i want to have the rear bank going straight into the pipe and y'ing where They meet, rather than running the rear bank forward and then y'ing. He said hes going to try it and see how it all works and check clearances.

Additionally, all of whom have changed y pipes, how much power increase did you think you got?

search for the "dat's y-pipe" on solaraguy. that is exactly what your lookign for. warning though...it ends up with un equal runner legnths. which can be harmful for scavenging on the front bank and will sound like poo.

Quick lesson. What would be the best performing setup? I didnt even think of runner lengths until you mentioned it, and sound is a concern a bit too, i love my muffler sound. Want to keep it somewhat the same, maybe "deepen" the sound a little more

that is the dats y pipe. VERY simple and really good for high boost FI applications. on a stock motor, id rather have one like the OBX one which has equal legnths.

Yeah i found the right page once i searched around some more, my friend just got his welder going again so we can finally start this, im saving for a before and after dyno, so that way i can shove it in this kids face who says that you dont gain HP from exhaust upgrades, and that i might notice 2 whp difference with a new y pipe..

Seems I lost the final pic I had made up but basically have him cut out the red section and add all new pipe into a new y.

Hmm, im probably going to make it obx style, im worried about clearance, as it is my resonator and piping is like an inch from scraping the ground, so im going to work on moving all my piping closer to the chassis.

Also i wanna know the seat dyno on a y pipe, how did it feel afterwards?
