3rd Generation Spark plug wire pops out 3/4 or wot?!?!?!?!?!

Old school (kinda :P) member here...

Here's my issue... anytime I put the pedal down more than 3/4 of the way to the floor, my #2 spark plug wire just pops out like nothing!

In my very little amount of research, I've heard oil leaks and bad wires cause this to happen! The VCG is brand new (but I still have a leak coming from somewhere behind the head), and I'm gonna change out the wires next paycheck.

Any additional thoughts/experiences? Thanks! 8-)

My friend had a similar problem on his camry, we replaced the spark plug wires under warranty from Oreilly and it never happened again. I'm guessing the car starts misfiring when this happens?

Yes sir! Running on 3 cylinders on the freeway is not fun! I'm just gonna take it easy on 'er til I can buy new wires next Friday. I've had the car for 40k+ miles now (not sure how long the previous owner had them on for) and have had the same wires, so it's probably time to replace! Thanks

Is there burn mark on the end of the plug wire? Did you replace the spark plug tube seals? And recheck the torque? How's the metal gasket on the spark plug and the seat on the cylinder head? And when you reseal the valve cover used RTV at the specified points? Just listing the items.

if they are Bosch wires then go ahead and toss them into garbage and get NGK from advance auto (with coupons) or amazon.

if they are really Bosch wires, then actually replace them with NGK and then bring Bosch wires to store that sold them to you (if you have a receipt), replace them with new ones under warranty, then go to another store of same chain and return them for a refund if it's not too late yet

that's what I did with Bosch wires (gave up after replacing them for the second time), they kept popping off because of lousy tube boot to coil connection (was so easy to break it apart...).
