Canada Gas door problem

I have a camry 1999 Le 4 cylinder and the gas door sometimes opens and sometimes doesn't open, and when it does open, it barely opens, it opens and closes right away..

Is there any Diy fix for this and what may be causing the problem?

You are probably missing the V-shaped spring that pops the door open. Check out this thread and it's pictures for your cheap and easy fix;

Gas door does not spring open any more

4th Generation

+1 on replacing the spring. I have 2 99's and have to replace the door springs on both. It is Toyota part #77360-33020.

Good luck,

Dave
