4th Generation Creaking and unpaved roads?

Im not sure if this has came up before but i couldn't find anything when searched. I have a 97 camry le and on your average paved road she runs great, not a single problem. However I live in a area that has its fair share of back roads, most paved but some are not and when driving on unpaved roads and only unpaved roads theres a creaking noise throughout the car. I havent been able to pinpoint the location of the noise because well I dont know much about cars execpt how to put gas in them yeah yeah i know, anyways any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Probably something suspension related. How many miles are on your car and do you still have the original struts and springs? It could be anything from your springs creaking because of too much dust or dirt in the whole assembly to you're sway bar bushings needing to be lubricated or replaced. The list could really go on and on. My suggestion would be to first try getting your sway bar bushings (front and back) replaced as well as your sway bar end links. If that doesn't solve the problem you're probably going to need new strut mounts. Is the sound kind of like a "clunk" whenever you go over uneven pavement? If so, then it's definitely time for some new strut mounts. But try doing the smaller more inexpensive stuff first and see if that corrects the problem. My rear sway bar creaks and squeaks a lot due to me not putting enough of the supplied lubricant on the bushings. So maybe you'll get lucky and that will be your problem. Anyway, good luck!
