USA Chipped Key Help

My ex boyfriend stole the chipped key out of my 1996 Camry. Police report made but didn't get my key back. I cannot start the car. I can't get to work. I am not in the best of financial situations. How can I drive my car? Im looking for the quickest, cheapest and easiest way. My mom was an AE in the Navy and taught me a few things so I know a little about cars but not much. I already took the bolts off the lower dash to check out the wiring but I got too frustrated and stopped. Anyone?

To make matters worse he also stole my cell phone but I guess thats just whining. I am extremely limited right now and unbelievably frustrated.

I would have a Locksmith go to the car and Re-key it If i were you. He will make you a Blank key.

By the way, i'm pretty sure that the 92-96 camry didnt have a Chipped key. It only had a FOB (Keyless entry remote).

If you dont have the remote for the keyless entry, there really isnt much you can do besides bypass the System, but you will still need a Cut Key to start the car.

There should be some large wires underneath the dashboard. They will be spliced and run to the Alarm ECU, you need to pull these splices apart and connect the colors up.. (White/black to white/black, etc..).

Once you get the system bypassed, put the key you had cut by the locksmith in the ignition, and your good to go.

No chip in the key. Any key to the car will start it.

If all else fails pull the ignition switch and use a screwdriver.

I have the key that goes into the ignition. what i am referring to is a "locktronics" antitheft key that fits into a black plastic flat square under the dash. It is wired so that unless the chip is in place the car will not start.I believe it has to be programmed to my car. I bought the car used it never came with a keyless entry remote device

why cant you bypass this system? Its going to be wired into the Starter Wiring anyways. like I said disconnect the spliced wires and find there matches on the opposite end of the splice. Connect them up and your good to go.

This Locktronics system is aftermarket i think, so it wont be a problem to by-pass

make sure to disconnect the Ground wire for the Alarm system as well. (should be connected to the body)

Its an aftermarket add on. If you already have the lower panel off start looking for a box and wiring that doesnt look like its factory. Theres not much else we can help you with if you cant find the box and where it splices into the wire loom.
