Made my Decision

Some of Y'all remember my last thread:

Tough Desision

Well, I've come to a *desision*.

I purchased my new ride this just pat monday. It is a 2006 Corolla CE. Base model with manual locks, manual windows and a manual transmission. Got it for well under KBB value because it was just sitting on the lot for a while. I guess most people are spoiled by the LEs and stuff. 57k miles.

May post pics. I dunno but you should see me over in the Corolla subforum a bit now.

Congrats man. I suggest posting a link to the pictures in the corolla forum once u get some

Sounds like it's a nice car though. And you can always convert the corolla to power windows down the road

Well, my thoughts on power locks/windows is that there is just more electronic crap to go wrong with the car. More weight too.

For example: Crap; it's raining, my windows are down and my battery is dead! No problem, just roll them up the good-ol-fashioned way.

True, but to convenience of being able to roll down multiple windows IMO outweighs laying across the seat to roll down a window if no passengers are on-board.

It's really up to the driver though. My 93 DX has manual windows... I really dont mind it, but it does get kind of annoying sometimes. lol

True, there is conveniance, but what happens if one or more of the windows fail to roll down or back up, plus wiring to run the power locks/windows, are usually located in the roof and/or doors.

You could get the wiring harness and stuff right out of a wrecked car. It would probably be kind of pricey though considering that you would need 4 door panels, 4 locking solenoids with Latches, 3 Switches, 1 Master Switch, and the harnesses that connect to the Fuse panel.

First upgrade will be wheels and tires. 185-65-r15 just don't ride as nice as the 195s on my camry. Thinking 205-55-r16 or something. dunno, will keep y'all posted.

Still have the camry. Let my sis borrow it for the weekend cuz her honda crapped out (electrical problems). Will be getting christina back monday though.
