New here, suspension questions on a '95 Camry

Hey folks. I'm a newbie to this forum, go easy on me. I'm a regular on a few other boards but the fiance just got a "new" Camry about 6-months ago so here I am.

She has a '95 Camry LE, 4-cyl, 4-door. The car is very bouncy over bumps, feels like it is floating. It has maybe 100k miles on it so I am thinking new shocks and springs are on tap. I can press on the hood/front fender and with relatively little ease, I can get the car's suspension to compress. Is this a common issue with Camry's? What am I looking at to replace?

Anyway, this is her daily driver so nothing special is required (not looking for a lowering kit or something radical). Are OEM Toyota parts the way to go or is aftermarket the way to go? Anyone done suspension work on a '95? I know nothing about them but could probably handle it as I have done suspension mods to my C5. Just curious if the Camry's have something "special" with the suspension I am missing.

Lastly, who is the source online for Toyota parts?

I appreciate the help folks, there always seems to be a forum for every car made.

Patrick

Is there an easy way to figure out if you have unsealed struts? Was this a suspension option or just on certain models?

u could just get the tokico HP struts that they sell on ebay, 350 bucks shipped. that's the whole unit and u don't have to worry about whether or not u've got sealed struts or not. but if you really want to find out there will be a ring around the top of the strut body where the piston rod goes in that will appear removeable. other issues to consider when doing struts on a gen3 camry are the rear sway bar links, as they tend to rust out and need replacing when the struts are changed. also, the metal caps that hold the spring onto the strut sometimes need to be replaced, and i would recomend doing it anyhow when u change the struts. as far as your springs go, the stock springs should be fine as they are so there shouldn't be any need to replace those, but if you do decide to, just bear in mind that dealership prices are going to be through the roof....
