Removal: Rear Door Power Lock 99 Camry

Power Door lock on Left rear is inoperative. Removed door panel to access the connector to test for presence of voltage. Space is very limited, cannot remove connector. Looked for fasteners to remove the solenoid for off-car test, no way.

Hanes has not helped much. Unless I have missed it, I can't find any info on removal.

I would appreciate your help with this problem.

99 Camry should be 98 Camry, SORRY

My Camry is a 1998 , sorry about the error. My other car is a 1999 Dodge Caravan. Looks like I may be off to a bad start!

Ed,

The FSM does not go in detail about the solenoid either, but from the looks of it, you need to remove the whole lock assembly (where it meets the striker plate) and pull through the service hole in the door (covered by plastic). Then you should be able to unclip the connector and remove as a whole.
