cv drive shaft brand instead of oem

I have to replace the front right cv shaft..

I have to buy a genuine part but compared to an aftermarket it's almost triple more expensive: genuine $150, aftermarket $50.

I think that there are the two brand offering the cv shaft on rockauto.com
; cardone select, a1-cardone, empi

it sounds like that cardone select and a1-cardone are the same company..
which brand is better?
CARDONE SELECT Part # 665044 is the cheapest one; $45 and remanufactured parts are $20 more expensive

why is new one cheaper than remanufactured parts?

plz recommend one

i've used both
new aftermarket cheaper initially, but quality is questionable, after 2 or 3 year, i start to see crack on the boot already, where i used oem boot/oem axle, i don't have to worry about it for next 6 to 8 years.

Just an FYI, dealer parts are remaned. I specifically asked the dealer back when I replaced mine last year and he said they don't bring new ones and sent me away

A1 Cardone is the company's remaned division, Cardone Select is the brand new division. I have Cardone Select brand new ones in my car and have had them in Michigan craterholes for a little over a year now and the seem to be pretty good!

The thing with remanufactured is it can be hit or miss. One might last 100,000 miles, another might only last 10,000 miles. It really depends on who did the particular rebuild.

NO TO CARDONE or A-1 or NAPA,Kragen/AZ etc. I have gone through 3 axles from these guys. Fed up I bought a brand new axle from my local mom and pop store carrying EMPI axles. Although they reused existing materials the quality of finish and construction of boots and clamps was very nice. I paid around 80 bucks for that one. No vibrations and tears or rips and holding up real good.

+1. Yeah, a new halfshaft with a lifetime warranty or re-boot the existing OEM one.

My teacher said its best to reboot OEM axles if you can because Remans can sometimes not have a rubber thing that prevent vibrations.

So far so good on the Cardone Select axles that I recently bought and installed in my wife's Toyota. I bought them on RockAuto and they looked to be very good build quality to me, equal to the original OEM ones that came off the car. I bought new ones, not re-manufactured ones though. The price difference was so small it wasn't worth it, plus you have a core charge and have to return the old ones.
