Thinking I'm going to replace the lower return line for my PS. Part 14 (44416 06050) is at less $85 and I could buy good rubber hose for I'm think $10-$20 with clamps. Anyone done this?
Is it a high pressure line? Power steering fluid is very flammable if it is I wouldn't. You could get a hose made at a Napa or Hydraulic shop cheaper than $85 I am sure. If it is low pressure I wouldn't sweat it myself.
Right, if the metal is fine then only the rubber line needs to be changed. However, if the metal line is leaking then it's the set. I don't see a whole lot of rust down there.
NAPA sells ATF-specific rubber hose for about $4/foot when I last bought some. Ask specifically for ATF hose because they also have coolant, fuel/evap, and vacuum hoses.

3/8" ID. However, the NAPA ATF hoses are of a thinner outer diameter but seem stronger. So if the original clamps are spring type they need to be changed to worm-gear type. Or check the local dealer on hose #14.
