1992 Camry Battery

Sorry in advance for the stupid question guys, but the battery on my 1992 Toyota Camry just died and I was wondering which model number that it requires, and which brand is good. I was thinking of just going down to Walmart to pick it up but a friend told me to get a "maintenance-free" one.

Thanks all!

arent they all pretty much maintenance free? in my life, i think ive only had to top off the water in a battery once since ive been driving for the last 15 years. i read good reviews for the duralast batteries and have since installed one in my camaro when the old battery kicked. i truly believe sealed batteries like optima are not worth the money, unless you were building a rock crawler.

Autozone red top Duralast or gold top Duralast-Gold. Walmart I believe still carries the same Johnson Controls batteries like autozone.

24F is the larger version. 35 is the smaller one that you don't want. As mentioned, I wouldn't use Optima unless you have an European car with a smart charging system that customizes charging rates according to the age and capacity of the AGM battery.

I personally also prefer the Ac Delco maintenance free battery. These are the wet cell with different plate alloys and do not gas as much. But these are hard to find now. So just the Duralasts should work fine. Sign up for Autozone's reward card too. Every 5 $20 transactions (1 per day) gets you $20 to spend.
